I use Gonzalez FOF on a Clark Fobes Nova mouthpiece and love them. Most of them play right out of the box.

I play both Albert and Boehm system and switch between the two systems on occasion, my E.J Albert with Barrett action(I have a pair) is a wonderful clarinet, it sings, coincidentally about about five hours ago I bought another one by Albert, Jacques Albert probably made in the late thirties before he retired, it has 6 rings, articulated G#, a booster key for throat Bb, similar instruments where played by Johnny Dodds and Jimmy Noone, George Lewis played this fingering system late in life, it is reminiscent of the Selmer Improved, roll on delivery, I will not be leaving the house tomorrow or the day after if it does not arrive! just for the sake of interest my main Boehm is a Selmer Centeredtone.

There is a cheap gizmo, which might help. It's called a thumb saddle and is available form Tom Ridenour. I was suffering from terrible tension, with pain running up my right arm into my neck and head. I imported some thumb saddles from Tom and within a week all my problems had disappeared.

.You can get more information at http://www.ridenourclarinetproducts.com/Thumb.htm

I hope this helps

Dunno, I just tried it and it works fine. You might want to check your Adobe Reader to see its working right, or right click and download it to a file then open it.

Wow, that's some intense blues playing by Tony Scott.

These are a couple of my favorites. My friends Doreen and DaReese in Nola a few years post Katrina, along with Allen Vache from Jim Cullum's band (based out of San Anton' now).

I have taken up swingjazz with my clarinet again, after having a 25 years break. In my younger days the reeds and the mouthpiece was a nightmare and a never ending story. I'm using Vandoren V12 2,5 and a Vandoren B45. I see the B45 is good for students. However, the mouthpiece is just a simple piece of plastic. Are there really objective differences or is it simply that whatever fits your personal style, is the best mouthpiece?
As to reeds, haven't anybody been able to make reeds from a plastic/carbon whatever material different from wood? I have tried one German one (Fiberreed) and one Canadian (Legere) one, but they really don't work.
But may be it comes down to Bopep's (Ken's?) statement - it's all about practising.
My style i rather rough - people say I play the tenorsaxophone on my clarinet.
